International Truck’s showcasing “Innovation 2,” an interactive truck that demonstrates the latest technology in the trucking industry, at this year’s Technology & Maintenance Council (TMC) annual meeting.
The truck, an International DuraStar, allows fleet managers and fleet maintainers to better understand the electronic features available in International trucks, including the International Diamond Logic Electrical System, AWARE Vehicle Intelligence and PowerPack 3. Experiencing first-hand fully illustrates the advantages that this technology provides.
International’s technology provides truck equipment manufacturers and customers with features that help improve the bottom line for their business in several ways.
Diamond Logic
International Diamond Logic helps the truck chassis better integrate with the truck body, resulting in improved performance. The electrical system uses advanced technology to help vehicle – and operations – work efficiently. With a minimum of wires and connections, it furnishes added brainpower and integration to trucks. The system is fully programmable for automation of tasks and customized vehicle performance to meet specific application requirements and safety and security features.
AWARE Vehicle Intelligence
The ability to not only track the location of a fleet, but also to provide instant diagnostics reports are invaluable to fleet managers. International is the first truck manufacturer to offer a comprehensive telematics solution for buses, medium- and heavy-duty vehicles. The system incorporates GPS technology to track the exact position of vehicles and uses in-vehicle monitors to relay key operating data such as vehicle functions and conditions back to fleet managers, owners and service teams through secure wireless networks.
PowerPack 3
For customers that require a reliable power source when on a job site, International has the solution – and it’s built right into the truck. PowerPack 3, a first-to-market OEM innovation exclusive to International, offers ease of truck integration and “Pure Power on Wheels.”
PowerPack 3 is a patented 3,000-watt AC power system that exceeds Underwriters Laboratories’ standards and is a factory-installed option on medium-duty and severe-service vehicles. It enhances reliability, durability and security while offering drivers all the auxiliary power they need to get the job done on demand.
