International Truck and Engine Corp.’s truck group has achieved ISO 9001:2000 certification for the quality standards and processes of its manufacturing and assembly operations.

An independent audit, recently completed by the British Standards Institute, certified that the quality management systems of the International Truck Group meet world-class levels of integrity and consistency. The audit focused on key aspects of International’s quality-related operations, including product realization, management responsibility, resource management and measurement, analysis and improvement.
"This ISO standard concentrates on processes that influence customer satisfaction, like continuous improvement and meeting regulatory requirements," said Nick Matich, vice president of quality for International.
In addition to the certification for its group management operations, International has achieved ISO 9001:2000 certification for its manufacturing and assembly facilities in Springfield, Ohio; Garland, Texas; and Escobedo, Mexico; and, for its customer support, reliability and quality operations, located in both Warrenville, Ill., and Fort Wayne, Ind.
More than 350,000 companies worldwide use the ISO 9000 family of quality management systems. ISO (International Organization for Standards) is a network of national standards institutes from 148 countries, working in partnership with international organizations, governments, industry, business and consumer representatives. It also is the source of the ISO 14000 families of environmental management standards.
International is the operating company of Navistar International Corp. The company produces International brand commercial trucks, mid-range diesel engines and IC brand school buses and is a private label designer and manufacturer of diesel engines for the pickup truck, van and SUV markets.
