I-gistics, a mobile hardware and software solution that allows delivery fleets to automate their logistics operations, is now available from Intermec Technologies Corp.
I-gistics provides proof of delivery and more to automate the entire pick-up and delivery process, according to Intermec. Drivers using i-gistics Mobile Delivery software are able to update shipment status, electronically process deliveries, pick-ups and returns as well as capture signatures for proof of delivery.
The software runs on Intermec 600 and 700 series mobile computers using Windows CE and Pocket PC operating systems. Integrated scanners allow drivers to scan barcodes on packages being shipped, and Intermec portable printers provide the ability to print pickup receipts or delivery tickets.
I-gistics integrates with existing ERP or WMS systems, and offers web-based dispatching to simplify the move to mobile computing. The software is flexible and can be configured to meet the mobile requirements of delivery fleets. I-gistics is available in a basic version to enable companies to get started with proof of delivery and a full featured version for more advanced pick-up and delivery features.
