The International Foodservice Distributors Association will host the 2009 Food Industry Truck Driving Championship Sept. 11-13
at the Orange County Convention Center and the Rosen Centre Hotel in Orlando, Fla. The event is sponsored by Penske Truck Leasing.
The championship brings together foodservice distributors, foodservice manufacturers with private fleets, retail/wholesale distributors, self-distributing retail supermarket companies, and other types of food companies across North America to promote driver safety. During the event, drivers will show off their skills in three areas, including a written exam, pre-trip safety inspection and a behind the wheel field course.
"We're proud to support the IFDA Food Industry Truck Driving Championship," said Jim Molinaro, senior vice president of sales at Penske. "We share a mutual commitment to safety and best practices in fleet management."
Penske has sponsored the event for the past three years and has signed on for the next two.
