IdleAire System to be Installed at 150 TA Properties
IdleAire will install its Advanced Travel Center Electrification (ATE) ShorePower system at all TA company locations across the nation under a long-term agreement announced by the two companies today.
IdleAire will install its Advanced Travel Center Electrification (ATE) ShorePower system at all TA company locations across the nation under a long-term agreement announced by the two companies today.
Headquartered in Westlake, Ohio, with 126 company locations, TA also will engage its 24 additional franchise locations for IdleAire installation.
"After three years of researching technologies that allow fleets to eliminate extended idling and save fuel and money, our study shows IdleAire provides the single best solution," said TA’s Peter Greene, senior vice president of development and franchising.
"We look forward to making the IdleAire system available at all TA sites and we will be encouraging our franchisees -- most of whom are already excited and willing -- to follow our lead," continued Greene.
IdleAire CEO Mike Crabtree said TA has more truck parking than any other travel center company.
"IdleAire offer will contribute to their one-of-a-kind, one-stop shopping that has won over fleets," adding, "We both want to provide a quality, cost-effective, market-based alternative to idling for all customers. Making this technology available at all TA locations will accomplish this and reach many more owner operators, fleets and drivers nationwide."
IdleAire is currently installed in 18 locations. The company has another 21 sites in some phase of construction. Under the agreement with TA, IdleAire will expand the three current IdleAire installations at TA sites in Dallas, San Antonio and Baytown, Texas, which were used by TA for evaluation purposes. The TA in Paulsboro, N.J., will open this week. The next TA locations scheduled for installation are Wheeler Ridge, Coachella and Ontario in California, and Knoxville, Tenn.
