IdleAir Says 16 Sites Now Operational

IdleAir plans to have 25 sites fully operational in 12 states by year end.
.
Convoy Solutions says it is taking a fresh look at the technology, the services offered, and pricing -- and it even has a new logo and new spelling to go with the new approach.
IdleAir is offering Basic Service at special pricing of $1.50 per hour (plus local taxes) for fleets that authorize their fuel card for payment. The special price will be offered through April of 2011. At current diesel fuel prices, this represents a greater than 50 percent savings versus engine idling during rest periods, the company claims.
In addition, IdleAir has grand opening Basic Service pricing of $1.25 per hour at nine sites through Dec. 31 of this year. Fleets with authorized fuel cards will receive the best price available at any site their drivers visit. The sites with grand opening special pricing include:
* West Memphis, Ark. - Pilot Travel Centers
* Newnan, Ga. - Pilot Travel Centers
* Madera, Calif. - Pilot Travel Centers
* Boonville, Mo. - Pilot Travel Centers
* Benton, Ark. - JJ's Truck Stop
* Monee, Ill. - Petro Travel Stops
* East St. Louis, Mo. - Pilot Travel Centers
* Hurricane Mills, Tenn. - Pilot Travel Centers
* Salt Lake City - Sapp Brothers
IdleAir's Basic Service includes HVAC, electricity inside and outside the cab, 58 television channels, and Internet on the built-in color touch-screen. Using idleAir service does not require a retrofit device other than an inexpensive window adapter. In response to driver and fleet request, IdleAir has also begun offering non-smoking spaces.
The previous incarnation of the company, IdleAire, ceased operations in January 2010. Convoy Solutions purchased some of the key assets of the failed company in May, and reopened its first seven locations in August.
