Truckstop electrification services provider IdleAir has broken ground with construction at the Flying J in Laredo as part of a wider expansion effort.

“This location will complement our very popular Pilot travel center operation on Uniroyal Road [also off I-35, exit 13] with a nearly doubling of capacity,” said the company in a release.

Additional travel center installations on IdleAir’s near-term construction schedule include the Pearl, Miss., Flying J; Latta, S.C., Flying J and three Pilot Flying J locations in Ohio, including Seville, Austintown, and Beaverdam.

“We have more travel center deployments planned for 2014, but our greatest level of excitement is reserved for the acceleration of our fleet terminal strategy,” said IdleAir.

In the last year the company has completed the construction of four dedicated fleet terminals including one in Mesquite, Texas for TSI/Panamex, and three in Laredo, Texas, for CR England, Werner, and Con-way, respectively.

IdleAir said in the near future it will be announcing several more terminal partnerships, including locations in markets outside of Texas.

IdleAir has 36 truckstop locations, including those set to open soon, allowing truck drivers to eliminate engine idling or running APUs while having air conditioning, heating, 120V electricity, high-speed Internet, and TV service.
