The Intermodal Association of North America (IANA) has announced a fuel card program with T-Chek Systems Inc. that enables member companies to buy fuel at more than 6,000 truckstops across the United States and Canada.

The fuel card program is available to all IANA members, including carriers, suppliers and intermodal marketing companies. Preliminary enrollment in the program has begun, according to T-Chek, a national fuel card and information management provider. The scheduled startup date is March 1.
In addition to purchasing fuel, participants in the program can take advantage of Web-based tools to manage fuel spend and related costs.
"As fuel costs continue to rise faster than other expenses for truckers, we are confident that this program will deliver meaningful savings and provide a substantial benefit for motor carriers that are trying to control expenses," said Frank Sonzala, chairman of IANA's board of directors.
"We are pleased to be chosen as the program manager for IANA to support their efforts and provide value-added services to their membership. T-Chek's strategy is to provide expense management services and this program highlights both organizations' commitment to the transportation industry," said Bryan Foe, president of T-Chek Systems.
Initially, a core group of more than 300 truckstops will be part of IANA's premium network, where the savings will be maximized. Cash advances also can be obtained at participating locations.
To take advantage of T-Chek's full menu of transportation-related services, future enhancements are planned for the IANA program that would include using the card for repairs, maintenance and other services.
