Higher Roads, The Center for Business Advancement, has opened its doors for business. Working with independent trucking professionals, the Lawrence, Kan.-based firm helps clients establish a roadmap
for taking their businesses to a new level, while providing the financial services, support and training needed to stay the course.
Higher Roads was founded by trucking veteran Jack Milligan. Milligan's experience in trucking spans more than three decades and includes lobbying, fundraising, sales and leadership positions with Kansas Motor Carrier Association, the American Trucking Associations, the National Association of Independent Truckers and the Truckload Carriers Association.
Most recently, he was a founding partner of The Alliance of Independent Trucking Professionals, a predecessor group that offered professional business services, tax and bookkeeping services for truckers.
"Higher Roads works with owner-operators to break the paycheck-to-paycheck mentality and start creating a clear gateway to financial freedom," says Milligan, president and founder.
Higher Roads specializes in four distinct service areas:
• Bookkeeping and Tax Preparation - Available as a monthly or quarterly service, Higher Roads provides bookkeeping and tax prep services that include profit and loss statements, estimated tax payments and ratio analysis.
• Personal Financial Tune-Ups - Personal financial service examines and evaluates personal financial situations including: credit card debt, other debt, and bank/savings accounts.
• Business Planning - Working with the driver's business finances to establish business roadmaps, align support and assistance to clear hurdles and assist driver's achieve financial goals.
• Education and Training - Beyond the steering wheel, Higher Roads education focuses around seminars and workshops that teach driving professionals how to take charge of their business in the trucking industry.
