The 2012 Green Fleet Conference, a resource for fleet professionals to learn more about eco-friendly equipment and ideas, will be held Oct. 2-3 in Schaumburg, Ill.

Last year's attendance for the Green Fleet Conference totaled more than 550 fleet professionals, and this year's numbers are expected to top that. Those who register by Friday, Sept. 7, will receive a $100 discount off of the price of a full conference pass.

The conference offers two full days of keynote presentations, workshops, seminars, and panel discussions designed for fleet professionals who are working to develop or sustain environmentally friendly operations.

Concurrent sessions are broken up into two tracks, corporate and government, to address the specific challenges facing each sector. Among the many sessions, Heavy Duty Trucking editor will be leading two of them.

Editor in Chief Deborah Lockridge will lead a panel discussion entitled "The 'Greening' of Engine Oils." The panelists for the discussion are Mark Betner, Citgo; Kevin Kroger, Puradyn Filter Technologies; Paul Bandoly, Wix; Rodney Walker, Safety-Kleen Systems, and John Q. Wesley II, Universal Lubricants.

Tom Berg, senior editor for HDT, will moderate a discussion on the strategies and technologies being employed and developed by major OEMs to reduce emissions and make their products more environmentally friendly. Representatives from some of the major truck OEMs will be present on the panel to answer questions.

The Green Fleet Conference will also feature an expanded exhibit hall this year. The exhibit hall will feature product and service displays geared toward car and truck fleet managers.

For the second time, the Green Fleet Conference is giving attendees the chance to test drive "green" vehicles and see new technology in action.
