A new Internet service, www.getloaded.com, lets truckers look for return loads to avoid deadhead miles.
"It gives independent owner/operators and regional trucking companies a competitive edge in picking up return loads," says Tim Stallings, area manager for the new service. "Truckers are constantly in search of timely loads to fill their return trips--they can be the difference between solid profit and just break even. The more freight, the more gross earnings. Now broker/shipper and trucker can get together on line for profit."
Getloaded.com was developed as an Internet load availability board, where freight brokers/shippers can post all their available loads. Truckers have 24-hour access to all these loads.
The service is inviting brokers/shippers to post their loads for free via the Internet or by fax. Truckers can sign up for a 30-day free trial. To get the free trial on the web site, enter the promotional code number 000900 during the sign-in process.
