Getloaded Helps Raise More than $20,000 for Special Olympics Virginia
Getloaded, a logistics freight matching website, recently joined forces with Special Olympics Virginia, the Virginia State Police, and more than 50 commercial truck drivers to participate in the 2nd annual segment of the World's Largest Truck Convoy

The convoy raised more than $20,000 to support the athletes of Special Olympics Virginia.
"This year's convoy was a huge success," said Getloaded's General Manager Fergus Caldicott. "We met our collective goal of 50-plus participants and helped raise more than $20,000 for Special Olympics Virginia, which means athletes all over the state will be able to continue following their passion."
The 2012 World's Largest Truck Convoy in Virginia was part of an international event, which unites more than 1,000 truckers across the United States and Canada. After being the founding sponsor of Virginia's first convoy event in 2011, Getloaded was pleased to step up again this year as the presenting sponsor.
This year's event began and ended at Meadow Event Park in Doswell, Va., and traveled along Interstates 95, 295, and 64. The convoy, escorted by the Virginia State Police, traveled 60 miles around greater Richmond and created enormous awareness and support for Special Olympics throughout the Richmond area.
The Truck Convoy is a celebration of the trucking industry and its support of Special Olympics. It is a unique one-day celebration in which law enforcement makes special dispensation and escorts a convoy of trucks through their town. In 2012, convoy events took place in 23 states and 4 Canadian provinces.
