GeoLogic Offers Over-the-Air Software Downloads
GeoLogic Solutions, the transportation industry’s leading provider of Multi-Mode communications and tracking systems, has announced the availability of over-the-air software downloading capabilities.

Used for MobileMax software upgrades and enhancements, the ability to perform this task wirelessly using Cingular’s GPRS network means that fleets no longer have to physically “touch” their trucks every time an upgrade is needed.
With more than 2,200 trucks in 72 different locations, Lexington, S.C.-based Southeastern Freight Lines predicts that over-the-air software downloads for their MobileMax systems will save them hundreds of man-hours, according to Dave Robinson, vice president of MIS at SEFL.
“Prior to utilizing the new over-the-air download capability from GeoLogic, it took a great deal of coordination to bring each truck into a location to download an update into each MobileMax system,” said Robinson. “There were also occasions when we had to fly people to company locations to perform upgrades on a weekend. The time, logistics and money we are saving with the ability to perform our upgrades wirelessly is quite substantial.”
