FTS Selects CarrierPoint from Transcore
Transcore, Hummelstown, Pa., announced that third-party logistics provider FTS Industries a has signed an agreement to use TransCore's CarrierPoint logistics software

Transcore, Hummelstown, Pa., announced that third-party logistics provider FTS Industries a has signed an agreement to use TransCore's CarrierPoint logistics software.
FTS will use TransCore's CarrierPoint product suite compliance, monitoring, collaboration and integration tools to centralize freight management for shipper clients. CarrierPoint is a remotely hosted application that will enable FTS sites to operate with oversight from the company's headquarters in Somerville, N.J.
CarrierPoint will keep records of FTS' core carriers and will automatically tell FTS personnel which carriers are available to cover a certain load. The software will apply business rules to select the best carrier for a load and allow FTS to secure rates that match a carrier's ability to deliver. CarrierPoint web-based software offers reduced up-front cost, rapid implementation and the opportunity to add new modules as users change and grow.
"We now have a way to measure the performance of carriers and make more logical decisions about carrier selection," said Jerry Catana, vice president of the FTS Logistics Group. "TransCore's CarrierPoint product gives us a report card on carriers. If we tendered them 100 loads and they only took five, that tells us something, and it influences our decision when we are tendering freight again."
