“Frito-Lay operates one of the “Safest Fleets in North America” and our Million Milers provide our safety foundation,” said Bill Simkins, Director of fleet safety for Frito-Lay North America. “Our drivers complete extensive driver training and skills development and consider safety to be their number one priority.”

Frito-Lay provides regular training for drivers that make use of skills maneuvering courses, advanced driving simulators and team collaborations on best practices.  On average it takes a Frito-Lay driver 12 years to reach the one million mile mark, according to the company. Frito-Lay currently employs more than 650 active Million Milers.

Through the Million Milers program and the company’s safety efforts, Frito-Lay has seen a 44% decline in total collisions since 2006.

“We thank this year’s Million Milers for their dedication to Frito-Lay and for keeping our roads accident-free every day,” said Simkins.
