Freightliner Trucks has built and delivered its 35,000th Columbia heavy-duty truck.

Introduced in 1999, the Freightliner Columbia is a versatile, 120-inch BBC, set-back-axle, Class 8 truck and tractor.
"The Freightliner Columbia has achieved great popularity since its introduction three years ago," said Mark Lampert, senior vice president of sales & marketing. "Customers appreciate the Columbia's efficiency and dependability and they love its great looks."
According to Lampert, the Columbia was engineered to maximize uptime and productivity, while incorporating distinctive styling and comfort features.
"We designed this truck to be bulletproof as well as beautiful with a wide range of custom options. The market acceptance of the Columbia shows we have hit the mark."
Lampert said Freightliner Trucks would continue to enhance the Columbia product line with new features. "We expect the Columbia to continue to grow in popularity as more fleet operators and owner-operators discover its value, style and performance."
The Freightliner Columbia is offered with a wide range of engines, transmission and other components and a broad selection of interior and exterior options. It is available as a day cab or in several sleeper cab configurations, including the top-of-the-line 70-inch raised-roof sleeper cab.
The Columbia is built at the company's Cleveland, N.C., Portland, Ore., and Santiago Tianguistenco, Mexico, truck manufacturing plants.
Freightliner Trucks is a division of Freightliner LLC, headquartered in Portland, Ore. Freightliner Trucks produces and markets Class 5-8 vehicles and is a company of DaimlerChrysler.
