Freightliner Corp. has purchased Freightliner Mid-Ontario Inc., Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. Freightliner Mid-Ontario is the largest Freightliner truck dealership in Canada with 255 employees and three locations in the Greater Toronto area. Freightliner Market Development Corporation, a Freightliner subsidiary, began management of the dealership on March 1.
Freightliner Mid-Ontario sells all Freightliner-nameplate trucks. The dealership has a main facility in Mississauga; a branch in Pickering and a newly opened 20-bay parts and service location in southwest Mississauga. The Pickering and main Mississauga branches offer 24 hours-a-day, seven-days-a-week, parts and service availability.
Freightliner has named Brad Thiessen, general manager, reporting to Bill Gordon at FMDC in Portland, OR. Thiessen joins Freightliner from a major engine manufacturer where his last position was general manager for truck engine sales, parts and service.
