Syncata, an El Segundo, Calif., automotive and industrial manufacturing consulting firm, is hosting a free TREAD Act Data Reporting Forum from 8 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30 at the Renaissance Hotel in Long Beach, Calif.

Syncata says it has been following the TREAD Act (Transportation Recall Enhancement, Accountability and Documentation) for more than two years, talking with dozens of OEMs and suppliers. The company says it understands TREAD's impact and approaches to compliance across a broad range of organizations.
The National Highway Transportation Safety Administration (NHTSA) recently issued regulations mandated by Congress in the TREAD Act to help identify motor vehicle and equipment defect trends. These new TREAD Act regulations mandate that all manufacturers of motor vehicles, including trailers and motor vehicle equipment, report certain information regarding problems associated with an extensive list of vehicle components to NHTSA every quarter beginning with the second quarter of 2003.
The seminar is intended to provide effected organizations with the information they require to design, plan, and deploy a compliance solution that meets legal requirements, minimizes disruptions, reduces costs and may, now or later on, offer additional benefits.
Some of the topics and speakers will include:
"Legal Aspects of the TREAD Act" with Steven Selander of Warner Norcross & Judd: Selander has represented GM before NHTSA for more than a decade, and worked as GM's legal representative to the Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers on issues relating to TREAD.
"TREAD Solutions: Plans, Designs, and Approaches" with Sanjiv Das, senior systems architect for Syncata: Das has more than 15 years of experience as an architect of technology solutions, and more than a decade of experience working with vehicle and equipment manufacturers.
"TREAD Solutions: Driving From Design to Implementation" with Scott Ringenback, senior manager of Syncata: Ringenback has more than 20 years of experience delivering business and technology solutions at vehicle, manufacturing and aerospace companies.
