Founder and former CEO of mobile communications provider @Road, Rod C. Fan and @Road co-founder E. David Mleczko, have announced a new venture
-- GenX Mobile Inc.
GenX Mobile based in San Jose, Calif., will supply intelligent in-vehicle devices and technologies. According to the announcement, GenX Mobile will provide mobile communication using the latest, widely available 3G (third generation) cellular technologies as well as three versions of 802.11, known as Wi-Fi.
GenX Mobile’s onboard computer will offer generic computer ports for connecting to laptop computers, handheld computers and other devices. The company plans to offer applications to work over the Nextel-compatible iDEN network and Bluetooth capability for close-range wireless communication.
The new company does not yet have an operational web site.
