It is in effect until June 15 or for the duration of the emergency, whichever is less.
It says it is being issued “as a result of interruptions in the availability and/or delivery and repair of services and property throughout the region, to include the state of Oklahoma, and a need for emergency transportation of medical supplies and personnel, food, fuel and other emergency relief.”
The exemption applies only to those providing direct assistance to the emergency relief effort. The exemption is for parts 390 through 399 of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, which includes hours of service rules.
It is reminding fleets and truckers that drivers operating under this declaration must have a copy of it in their possession.
