FleetPride has acquired Bound Brook Safety Equipment Co., a subsidiary of Somerset Tire Service, Edison, N.J.


Safety Equipment has eight employees and FleetPride has offered employment to all of them. Rocco Marinelli, branch manager, and Bill Albers, assistant manager, will stay on in leadership roles after the transaction is complete.

"This acquisition marks our entrance into the New Jersey market," said Mike Paxton, FleetPride's Vice President of Business Development & Strategic Planning. "The state's high concentration of heavy-duty truck business and its proximity to numerous national FleetPride accounts make it a natural expansion location for us.

The existing location is 10,000 square feet; FleetPride plans to almost immediately double the square footage to allow for increased inventory.

FleetPride, a major supplier of heavy duty truck and trailer parts, operates 178 locations in 39 states and carries a full line of nationally recognized brand name parts, as well as an assortment of private brand parts. In addition, FleetPride offers in-house remanufactured products such as brake shoes, transmissions, rear axles and driveline components. Truck and trailer repair services are also offered at a number of locations.
