Five "Stars of the Road" Winners Announced

Five musical performers from the trucking industry were the big winners in the "Stars of the Road" talent search, which had its debut at the Mid-America Truck Show in Louisville last month.
AmeriSearch Music Group, Inc, parent company of Gear Jammer Records of Nashville and founders of the Talent Search 2003 event, announced the five winners out of 18 entrants who participated in the competition.
Talented truckers or their family members were a part of a nationwide search for undiscovered music talent. The winners will each have two songs on a compilation of original music that will be distributed nationwide, according to Frank Milstead, one of the organization's founders.
"It's music by truckers, for truckers," Milstead said.
The winners include:
Chrissy Kelley, a driver for Werner Enterprises; Marshall Madison, a former trucker who is now dedicated fulltime to his music career; Bobby Huckaby, a driver for Tonapah Joe's Truck Stop of Arizona; Jeff Lofollette, driver for Kennedy Trucking of Carrollton of Kentucky; and Kris Pierce, a former dispatcher and son of a 30-year trucker from Eminence, Kentucky.
The winners are invited to showcase their talents and sell their own personal projects along with the Gear Jammer Records compilation at the next two talent searches this year. Those will be held Aug. 8 and 9 at the Waupun, Wisconsin Trucking Jamboree, and Sept. 26-28 at the Great American Truck Show in Dallas, Texas.
Award-winning song artist Kenny Robbins opened the talent show each day at Mid-America, along with Kenneth 'Otis' Junkin of Mayberry USA and singer/actress, Laura McCray.
