Denise Ciok, vice president of Port Jersey Transportation for two decades, has been elected president of the New Jersey Motor Truck Assn.

Ciok is the first woman to lead the NJMTA since its founding in l9l4.
The trade group has more than 1,000 members representing private and corporate owners and fleet operators.
In a statement, the group said Ciok's goals are to increase membership and monitor proposed changes in legislation that could affect the state's trucking industry.
"The public must be educated about the necessity of the trucking industry," she said. "Without trucks on our highways, there would be no bread on the table and probably no tables. Without trucks America stops."
