ALK Associates, Inc., Princeton, NJ, has released PC Miler Europe 2000. The commercial routing and mileage software for motor carriers, manufacturers, and logistics companies with European operations provides highway routing between 50 countries within Eastern and Western Europe, Great Britain, Scandinavia, and the former Soviet Union.
The third release of the product, it features a highway database of more than 1,350,000 road kilometers, and 630,700 accessible locations (cities, towns, highway junctions, and border crossings). Both European and North American spellings of major cities are recognized for simpler route entry.
The software also offers a 30% increase in highway segments, including a 45% increase in Great Britain's highway network and a 20% increase in France's highway network. The new database contains 550,000 new accessible locations for a total of 630,700 locations. Eight countries have been added to the database: Gibraltar, Iceland, Kirghizia, Montenegro, San Marino, Tadjikistan, Turkmenia, and Vatican City.
