Engstrom Elected Chairman for HDAW 2007
Planning began last month for the second annual Heavy Duty Aftermarket Week (HDAW) with the election of David Engstrom as the 2007 HDAW chairman.

The joint operating committee also elected Joe Mejaly, vice president and general manager of ArvinMeritor’s Commercial Vehicle Aftermarket Business, as vice chairman. The 2007 Education Committee will be co-chaired by Dave Scheer, president of Inland Truck Parts, and John Flad, vice president of aftermarket sales, Bendix CVS.
HDAW 2007 will be held Monday, Jan. 22, through Thursday, Jan. 25, at The Mirage in Las Vegas. The JOC plans to build on the successful 2006 format for the 2007 conference. There will be several program enhancements that will be announced in the coming weeks.
“I look forward to serving as chairman and working to make HDAW even more of a distributor-focused event and one that provides unprecedented and unrivaled value to manufacturers and distributors alike,” said Engstrom, who is president of Mutual Wheel. “Our new format will increase the educational offerings, which were enormously well received last year and provide even more time for one-on-one meetings. HDAW 2007 will certainly be the biggest and most important conference of the year for the heavy duty aftermarket industry.”
HDAW 2006 drew 1,837 attendees to hear presentations by industry leaders, educators and analysts, participate in one-on-one meetings, and view the latest products and services in the sold-out product exhibition. The attendance made the event the largest gathering of distributors and suppliers in one setting over the last 20 years.
HDAW event organizers are the Heavy Duty Distribution Association (HDDA) and the Heavy Duty Manufacturers Association (HDMA). For more information, visit www.hdaw.org. For information about exhibiting or sponsorship opportunities in 2007 should contact W.T. Glasgow, HDAW conference management, at 708-226-1300 or info@hdaw.org.
