The ATA Management Conference & Exhibition kicks off a yearlong celebration commemorating its own 70th birthday and the 100th anniversary of the trucking industry. The conference will be held at the Orlando World Center Marriott Resort & Convention Center.
ATA President and CEO William Canary has dedicated this year's event to all those who have made significant contributions over the last 70 years, including the ATA Federation. "We want to acknowledge the contributions of ATA's past and present leaders and the thousands of members who have supported ATA's mission over the years," he said. The other milestone to be celebrated in Orlando will track the truck industry's rise out of the shadow of previous modes of freight movement -- river, rail and animal power -- to become the largest freight carrier in the U.S.
"Trucking has worked hard to earn its reputation as the mode of transportation that keeps America rolling," Canary said. "We're going to celebrate our first 100 years with a pledge to work together to guarantee another century of trucking success."
