Terence Dubowick, national account manager for the Mack Leasing System and the Volvo Truck Leasing System, was unanimously chosen by his industry colleagues as 2011 - 2012 Chairman of the Truck Renting and Leasing Association.
TRALA is the national trade association representing every major truck leasing company and leasing system operating in North America.
Dubowick was already actively involved in the association. He has served in TRALA's leadership for the past several years, guiding its direction through his chairmanship of the Finance Committee.
"I have very much enjoyed working with Terry over the years and look forward to his in-depth knowledge of the industry," said TRALA president and CEO Thomas James. "In addition to Terry's leadership, the coming year looks to be an exciting one for TRALA. The fact that our recent Annual Meeting attendance was triple the number that participated in the event last year is a great sign for the association and the industry!"
"I am honored to lead TRALA into the next phase of our growth," said Dubowick during his March 10 acceptance speech. "I will work with the TRALA leadership and staff to continue to keep a laser focus on TRALA's core mission of Government Relations. FASB's lease accounting overhaul, protecting lessors from vicarious liability, green technologies and trucks, and fighting excessive fees, taxes and government intrusion are only a few of the issues that TRALA promotes for our industry on Capitol Hill and within the truck transportation community. I will work during the next year to amplify these messages for the benefit of all of us."
