Dec. 15 – The owners of Dixie Truckers Home truckstops are buying the owners of the Green Shingle truckstop near Erie, PA.
The truckstop, located in Fairview, PA, at Exit 5 of I-90 at SR 832, will be operated as a Dixie Truckers Home location.
The purchase marks Dixie’s first venture outside of its Illinois base. Dixie currently owns and operates three central Illinois truckstops: its flagship facility in McLean and full-service centers in Effingham and Tuscola.
The new location includes a full-service restaurant, a quick service sandwich shop, a convenience store, 18 diesel pumps, two gasoline lanes, driver showers and lounge area, and a complete truck repair and service center. The new location will get a number of upgrades and improvements over time.
“Since Green Shingle opened in 1960, Bob Lindgren, his family and management team have worked tirelessly to develop a strong reputation for quality service and products and exceptional value,” says Dixie President Mark Beeler. “That heritage and popularity is what attracted us to Green Shingle, and what will make them a perfect fit with Dixie Truckers Home.”
