Declaring the first Heavy Duty Aftermarket Week (HDAW) a resounding success, HDAW organizers have announced dates for next year’s event – Jan. 22-25, 2007. The event will again be held at The Mirage in Las Vegas, Nev.
The inaugural HDAW drew 1,837 attendees to hear presentations by industry leaders, educators and analysts, participate in one-on-one meetings and view the latest products and services in the sold-out exhibit area. The attendance made the event the largest gathering of distributors and suppliers in one setting in the past two decades. Additionally, the 1,255 pre-scheduled one-on-one business meetings between suppliers and their distributor customers were the most private meetings held at a heavy-duty industry function in many years.
“We certainly set the bar high for ourselves for next year’s event, but we’re confident that we can produce an even better week next year,” said HDAW Show Manager Bill Glasgow Sr. “Industry support was fantastic. Suppliers and distributors from the sponsoring organizations developed the overall program and provided insightful and informative presentations to make the distributor-focused education and training sessions the most comprehensive program this industry has seen in years.
“Distributors supported the event in large numbers. Nearly 400 distributor executives from more than 250 distributor companies attended,” Glasgow added. “And what was equally impressive was that the attendees were geographically spread out, including 47 percent of the distributor attendance coming from Ohio and points east. Additionally, there were multiple visitors from 13 different countries.”
Feedback from attendees has been extremely positive, according to Glasgow.
HDAW event organizers are the Heavy Duty Distribution Association (HDDA) and the Heavy Duty Manufacturers Association (HDMA).
