Cummins Inc. of Columbus, Ind., and Westport Innovations Inc. of Vancouver, British Columbia, have selected the name "Cummins Westport Inc." for their recently formed joint venture.

Separately, Cummins Westport announced a change in the composition of its six-person board of directors. Martha Finn Brooks, Cummins vice president and general manager, Truck and Bus Engine Business, has been added to the Cummins Westport joint venture board in place of Tom Linebarger, Cummins vice president and chief financial officer.
Brooks joined Cummins in 1986 and worked in the areas of corporate strategy, European, Middle Eastern and African operations, and truck engine marketing before being appointed to her current position in October 1999. She holds a bachelor of arts degree and a master's in business administration degree, both from Yale University.
Cummins Westport Inc.'s existing products are three lines of alternative fuel, spark-ignited engines designed by Cummins and used for transit, shuttle and school buses and refuse trucks. These include the C8.3 G, an 8.3-liter natural gas engine with a top rating of 280 horsepower; the B5.9 G; a 5.9-liter natural gas engine with a top rating of 230 horsepower; and the B5.9 LPG, a 5.9-liter propane engine with a top rating of 195 horsepower.
In addition, Cummins Westport is testing, in field trials, the 400-horsepower Cummins ISX heavy-duty truck engine with a natural gas fuel system designed by Westport.
