Cummins has announced the certification of four ISB diesel engine rating to the 1999 Environmental Protection Agency Clean Fuel Fleet Vehicle Low Emissions Vehicle standard.

The four ISB CFFV engine ratings will cover the 175-215 horsepower range and will require exhaust aftertreatment.
The CFFV program is an emissions legislation program designed to improve air quality, focused at specific areas in the United States. Under the program, a percentage of new vehicles acquired by certain fleet owners in the covered areas will be required to meet clean fuel fleet emissions standards.
Introduced in April 1997, the ISB is a 24-valve, fully electronic 6-cylinder diesel engine. It was Cummins’ first entry in its Interact System of products that combine electronic engine controls with high-pressure fuel injection and high-strength componentry.
