Continental Tire North America has signed on to be the official and exclusive tire supplier for the Super Truck Racing Assn. of North America and its planned ZF Super Truck Racing Championship Series.
STRANA announced in March that it intends to bring European-style truck racing to the United States. The group plans to have its first racing season in the summer of 2002.
The agreement calls for Continental to maintain its sponsorship role for three years. The company will develop and supply special products for STRANA and lend its engineering expertise.
"This is a natural fit for Continental Tires," said Frank Eckelmann, fleet sales manager for Continental. "We are the exclusive tire supplier to the European Truck Racing Cup, a successful and popular racing series. We believe STRANA is bringing this same type of professional motor sports property to North America and want to be part of its success here."
