The second annual "Clean Heavy-Duty Vehicles for the 21st Century: Exploring Trends in Advanced Technologies and Fuels," will be held Feb. 20-22, 2002, at the Mission Palms Hotel, Tempe, Ariz.
The two-day conference will provide participants the opportunity to hear about the latest international trends influencing advanced drivetrains and fuel choices for the 21st century heavy-duty vehicle industry.
Featured speakers will include leading executives from American, Asian, and European truck and engine manufacturing companies, advanced technology companies, as alternative fuel and oil firms, as well as high ranking officials from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the California Air Resources Board. The conference is designed for individuals and companies who are part of the heavy-duty vehicle industry -- manufacturers, suppliers, technology developers -- as well as users of heavy-duty vehicles.
Topics to be discussed include: What are the international trends in advanced transportation technologies and fuels? What are the industry challenges to meet the new U.S. EPA 2007 diesel engine and emission standards as well as the European standards from the perspectives of regulators, manufacturers, and users? What clean fuels will play a significant role in cleaning up heavy-duty vehicles in the 21st century? What exciting, cutting-edge drivetrain and enabling technologies are out there as possible solutions to reducing emissions and increasing fuel economy in heavy-duty vehicles?
The conference is being hosted by the U.S. Army National Automotive Center and WestStart, an advanced transportation technologies consortium that focuses on developing new, clean technologies and solutions in transportation.
