Portland, Oregon's Jubitz Truck Stop is celebrating the completion of its multi-million dollar renovation with a concert series and special day for drivers.
Travis Tritt is the headliner at Jubitz' Ponderosa lounge this Saturday, July 15. Tickets are sold as dinner/hotel packages. Others in the series include the Warren Brothers, August 19; Keith Urbin, September 16; and Doug Stone, November 4. Tickets are $10 at the door.
Jubitz will host a Drivers Appreciation Day for professional truck drivers on September 22. The event includes food, games, entertainment, prizes and industry displays. One of six regional qualifying events in the Stars & Stripes Show Truck Series will be held at the truckstop September 22-24.
The year-long Jubitz renovation added 45,000 square feet of new space and nearly doubled the size of the complex. Additions include a new 80-seat movie theater and 6,000 square foot retail mall. The Ponderosa lounge has a second dance floor, larger stage, and a new state-of-the-art ventilation and smoke filtration system. There’s also a shoe repair/boot store, a video arcade, a deli, convenience store, laundry, barber shop and hair salon. Jubitz’ hotel, the Portlander Inn, has expanded from 60 to 100 rooms including three new suites featuring Jacuzzi-like tubs. The Cascade Grill now seats 250 people.
Jubitz Truck Stop is located off I-5 at exit 307 near the Oregon/Washington border. For more information about the grand opening events call (503) 283-1111x 8501 or go to www.jubitztruckstop.com.
