Commercial Vehicle Group Inc., New Albany, Ohio, recently announced a partnership with Volvo 3P, the business unit within Volvo AB responsible for development and purchasing for Mack Trucks Inc., Renault V.I and Volvo Truck Corp.
The partnership was created to develop a global modular seating platform for medium and heavy duty trucks.
The platform will be designed to satisfy ever-increasing global expectations for safety, ergonomics and durability. The modular seat systems will be manufactured and launched on a global basis and designed to meet Volvo's Best in Class Engineered Product (BICEP) criteria.
The seating partnership is initially expected to launch in Europe and further expand into Volvo's other global production sites.
Commercial Vehicle Group is a supplier of fully integrated system solutions for the global commercial vehicle market, including the Class 8 truck market, the construction and agriculture market and the specialty and military transportation markets. The company's products include suspension seat systems, interior trim systems, such as instrument and door panels, headliners, cabinetry and floor systems, cab structures and components, mirrors, wiper systems, electronic wiring harness assemblies and controls and switches specifically designed for applications in commercial vehicle cabs.
