Colony Tire Corporation, headquartered in Edenton, N.C., has become the newest franchisee of Michelin Retread Technologies (MRT), the company said.
Colony Tire has 20 commercial locations covered by this agreement that will be operational by the end of May and will bring the total number of MRT franchisees serving the North American market to 46.
"Michelin is pleased to have such an excellent retread provider and industry-leading dealer like Colony Tire join our expanding network of MRT franchises," said Tom Brennan, vice president and director. "Our MRT retreading process supplies the highest quality retreads to trucking fleets and public transportation vehicles, enabling them to reduce their operating costs. Demand for MRT products, including our Michelin X-One wide single retreads, is increasing, and Colony Tire will help meet that demand."
"At Colony Tire, our primary objective is to exceed our customer's expectations for products and service," said Charlie Creighton, Colony's CEO. "MRT's process and product offerings are a perfect match for that objective. Our customers demand high-quality retreads, and MRT enables us to provide those products, which support our customers' long-term growth and prosperity."
MRT treads are built with proprietary Michelin compounds and tread patterns to mirror the performance of new Michelin truck tires, the company said. The process brings new-tire technology to existing tires, offering proven tread designs and higher quality standards to deliver a reliable retread specifically designed to customer needs
