Iowa-based collectiveData Inc., which provides fleet and shop maintenance management software, has announced the release of version 4.3 for both its collectiveFleet and collectiveShop
Computerized Maintenance Management Software (CMMS products.
Foremost among the extensive list of software enhancements is the innovative desktop design concept that provides a highly customizable approach to navigating and using the software.
"We like to think of it (version 4.3) as the next logical step in application design," said Kevin Roth, director of application development. "Most people are familiar with the desktop they use every day on their computer. We took that level of comfort and flexibility and made it available in our software applications."
The new concept in application design allows users to create a mechanics desktop, a manager's desktop or any number of desktops populated with one-click links to the functions they need on a day-to-day basis. While each desktop is unique, they do not conflict with each other. Security features control access to the various desktops so you know your data is secure and accurate. Other functions are easily accessible from the tool bar and menu at the top of the program.
The other major upgrade associated with this release is the availability of both collectiveFleet and collectiveShop in WindowsT MySQLT and Mac OS XT My SQLT ready versions.
"This is only the beginning of our branching out into the world of alternate operating systems and true client-server database applications. We should have a UNIX and Linux version available by the end of the second quarter this year." said Jason Wonase, director of core development. Other enhancements include e-mail notification, improved reporting abilities, a GPS module, a motor pool module, F.A.S.T reports and many other navigation and usability upgrades.
