During its annual CLI User Group Conference, Carrier Logistics will provide less-than-truckload, courier and multi-stop system operators and managers with best IT practices.
The conference, with the theme "Smart Choices in IT 2010," will be held April 22-23 at the Crowne Plaza in White Plains, N.Y.
"In these tough economic times, it is vital transportation companies get all they can out of their systems to get an edge on competitors," said Ken Weinberg, CLI vice president. "At the conference, expert trainers will educate operators on how to use all their system's enhanced capabilities, increasing cost savings and reliability and streamlining business practices."
Ken Hoexter, managing director from BofA Merrill Lynch, will kick things off as the keynote speaker, providing an executive-level discussion of the state of the industry. Hoexter will update attendees on trends in each transportation mode.
Conference attendees will learn how to apply operator art in using new rating and dispatch improvements, billing innovations, and a dock management system. Other topics to be covered include collection management, web capabilities, operations management, and financial reports. Attendees will view a supplier showcase of the latest IT advancements. Each will be trained hands-on using actual computer workstations and participate in roundtable discussions.
A panel of CLI experts will answer system users' questions, as the conference format enables users to share experiences, provide feedback to CLI on future system improvements, and network with industry peers. Further sessions will cover mapping, costing, mobile data, interline accounts payable, electronic data interchange (EDI), information system management, business intelligence, and warehousing management.
