CFS Hosts Parts Forum in Utah Sept. 21-24

The Council of Fleets Specialists (CFS) has announced the inaugural session of The Institute for Transportation Parts Professionals.

This industry-wide education forum will be held Sept. 21-24 in Salt Lake City, Utah, and is designed to foster operational excellence. Anyone involved in the truck parts distribution business from the distributor owner, the purchasing manager, the field salesman, or the manufacturer district representative will benefit from presentations by industry experts.
Topics include:
-- Managing Quality Systems from Arvin-Meritor
-- Time Management from Franklin Covey
-- The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People from Franklin Covey
-- Survival Economics for Distribution by Northwood University
-- Operational Excellence by Federal-Mogul
The three-day seminar will also include a fleet executive panel called "What Do Fleets Want?" The panel will be moderated by Jim Winsor, executive editor of Heavy Duty Trucking magazine.
In addition, attendees will have access to product technical information presented by Haldex-Midland and Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems as well as guest speakers.
"As a trade organization, we take very seriously our mission to improve the efficiency and aid in the success of the participants in our industry," said Jeff Burke, secretary-Treasurer of Drivetrain Industries in Denver, Colo. and the current president of CFS. "This forum is a tangible example of our commitment to this mission."
Gene Damron, vice president of Page Brake in Salt Lake City and current treasurer of CFS has been the leader of this effort. He said, "The sessions are designed to enlighten and provide a clearer understanding of solutions to the challenges that face distribution businesses today."
