Caterpillar, Peoria, Ill, announced that in response to growing demand the company will begin production of work tools at a facility in Waco, Texas.

The new work tools operation will occupy a Caterpillar facility vacated in early 2003, and will initially employ approximately 30 people.
"Employees in the retooled Waco facility will focus on the North American production of some of our most popular excavator buckets, freeing up our existing facilities to concentrate exclusively on their individual core competencies,” said Caterpillar Work Tools Operations Manager Larry Holt.
Facility employment is expected to more than double to approximately 80 in the first 12 months of operation.
