Qualcomm Inc., San Diego, Calif., announced that Cargo Transporters has extended its contract to deploy Qualcomm's OmniTRACS mobile communications system

on its fleet and to beta test selected next-generation Qualcomm wireless solutions.
Cargo Transporters, Claremont, N.C., a unit of the CT Group, operates 400 power units in two truckload divisions, dry van and international.
"Our entire fleet travels 4.2 million miles per month with Qualcomm's
OmniTRACS mobile communications system on board each vehicle," said John Pope, president of Cargo Transporters. "We are excited about the opportunity
to beta test future Qualcomm solutions that will help our business be even
more profitable."
"Qualcomm believes that in order to continue our legacy of innovation in the
transportation industry, we need the active participation of long-term
customers like Cargo Transporters in the development of next-generation
wireless solutions," said Glynn Spangenberg, vice president and general
manager of transport logistics for Qualcomm Wireless Business Solutions.
