Canadian Fleet Signs Up For OptiYield Fuel&Route
Logistics.com will deliver OptiYield Fuel&Route to XTL Transport Inc. via application service provider (ASP) delivery
Logistics.com will deliver OptiYield Fuel&Route to XTL Transport Inc. via application service provider (ASP) delivery.
XTL Transport is a leading Canadian truckload carrier servicing Ontario, Quebec and the continental United States. It joins over 70 other Logistics.com customers using OptiYield and will pay a monthly fee for access to the application, which will be fully managed by Logistics.com.
"We expect OptiYield Fuel&Route to save us money on every truck," said Doug Kimmerly, vice president of MIS for XTL Transport. "With 180 trucks on the system, it can really add up."
XTL Transport will use OptiYield Fuel&Route to generate optimal routes and fueling stop recommendations. The tool will give management better visibility into the fuel stop network. The program considers multiple factors such as fuel prices, driver amenities, out-of-route miles, state taxes, miles on toll roads and on-time deliveries when determining the optimal route. It not only recommends where to buy fuel but also how much to buy at each stop. OptiYield Fuel&Route also considers the price of fuel in the final delivery area so that trucks will not be stranded in high cost areas with low fuel levels.
With fuel stops ranked according to amenities like shower availability, food quality and service facility types, drivers are assured that all of their preferences will be taken into consideration. Intermediate stops to drivers' homes and maintenance facilities are also taken into consideration.
