Call Capture Boosts Cellphone Signals
Richardson Electronics, LaFox, Ill., has introduced Call Capture, a line of cellular phone signal enhancers. According to the company, Call Capture dramatically improves the signal strength and area coverage of cellular phones

“When your job is to drive long distances, often without any of the comforts usually associated with living at home, the ability to maintain contact with family, as well as with colleagues and dispatchers, is of utmost importance,” said Greg Peloquin, Richardson Electronics’ executive vice president of the company’s RF and Wireless Group. “Truckers are an integral part of American business, and they make sacrifices to help keep companies on their feet. One sacrifice they shouldn’t have to make is to spend long time periods away from their family without being able to contact them by phone. With Call Capture, truckers can stay in touch with their family no matter where their job may take them.”
Call Capture is available in two different models that cater to individual cellular users and their specific needs. Richardson offers the amplifier in a portable, easy-to-install model for consumers who frequently change vehicles or are constantly on the go. The portable kit uses a power adaptor that plugs into a vehicle’s cigarette lighter and uses two small antennae- one internal, one external- to boost the cellular signal inside vehicles.
Users may also choose to have the amplifier professionally installed so that all cables and antennae are hidden and the device is powered directly by the vehicle’s electric system. Richardson Electronics offers an exclusive model for professional and long-distance drivers that includes an exterior mounting bracket that allows drivers to extract the greatest value from their Call Capture amplifier.
Richardson’s Call Capture signal amplifiers also allow cellular users to get the most out of their cellphone’s battery. When a cellular phone is operating without the use of a signal amplifier in an area with a poor cellular signal – a frequent occurrence on U.S. highways and rural areas – the phone must operate at full power in order to relay the phone’s signal to the nearest cellular tower. When using the Call Capture amplifier, the phone uses less battery power, and can function for a longer period of time.
