Bridgestone Bandag Tire Solutions (BBTS), a division of Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations says it will discontinue sales of its Dayton brand truck and bus radial tire line
effective January 1, 2011.
Today's announcement affects medium truck tire dealers and fleet customers in the U.S. only, and does not impact the sales or availability of Dayton brand light truck or passenger tires.
"This decision is based on the desire to simplify our product offering, making it easier for our distributors and customers to conduct business with us," said Kurt Danielson, President, BBTS. "As a supplier who works with fleets to implement tire management solutions to lower overall operating costs, we feel that Firestone brand truck and bus tires will offer customers a viable alternative."
It is anticipated that supplies of Dayton brand truck tires will be available through the 4th Quarter of 2010. Dayton truck tire warranties will continue to be honored.
