Earth Biofuels Inc., the exclusive distributor of Willie Nelson’s brand of biodiesel, said BioWillie biodiesel fuel is available for the first time in Laredo, Texas. Discount Diesel, LC in Laredo becomes the 12th retailer
to offer BioWillie in Texas, completing the stretch from the Oklahoma border to Mexico.
“This is great news for the state of Texas and especially the truckers who travel the busy Interstate 35 corridor through Texas” said Jim Horton, Earth Biofuels’ vice president of sales. “The availability of renewable fuel sources in Texas is growing and Earth Biofuels is very pleased to be a part of – and help drive – that growth.”
Opened in 2005, Discount Diesel, LC in Laredo is on the Texas border and has an estimated 6,000 trucks pass by daily. The station is a full service truckstop with more than 100 parking spaces, a convenience store, Cat scales, showers, a restaurant offering home cooking and the latest comforts designed for truck drivers. Andy Saenz, general manager of Discount Diesel, LC, stated, “By February 2007, Discount Diesel, LC will offer even more amenities including a truck, trailer and tire repair shop, a quick lube, and entertainment.”
Earth Biofuels’ BioWillie brand biodiesel pumps are currently located in seven states, including California, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Texas. BioWillie is a premium blend of biodiesel and petroleum diesel. The biodiesel is made from vegetable seeds, such as soybeans.
