Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems is offering the 2009 edition of its all-inclusive Brake Training School for new and experienced technicians in nearly 20 U.S. cities starting April 6 in Elyria, Ohio.
The comprehensive Bendix Brake Training School curriculum - conducted by veteran 100 percent ASE-certified Bendix Service, Warranty, and Training (SWAT) team experts - teaches maintenance professionals the description, operation, and service elements for the total range of components found within foundation and air brake systems. The training school includes detailed classroom lectures and operational demonstrations.
"Bendix Brake Training School will help technicians maintain and improve their knowledge about braking systems, allowing fleets and owner-operators to decrease downtime and service costs," said John Reid, Bendix SWAT team manager. "Bendix Brake School attendees represent a cross section of product and service personnel from fleets and other organizations. Bendix offers the course to keep them apprised of the latest technical information regarding the operation and service of air brake and foundation brake systems."
The curriculum includes the fundamentals of compressed air; tactics for air system failure mode diagnosis and troubleshooting; and air brake system and foundation brake components, including air compressors, valves, foundation drum brakes and air disc brakes, slack adjusters, brake chambers, shoes, and drums.
Additional topics covered include antilock braking systems and stability technologies such as the Bendix ESP Electronic Stability Program. Participants receive a comprehensive workbook, enabling them to take their lessons home with them.
