Bendix Expands 2026 Brake School Schedule with More Advanced Tech Training
Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems will roll out its 2026 technical training calendar with expanded access to its Advanced Technology Training program, alongside its long-running Air Brake Training course.

Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems is expanding its 2026 technical training lineup. The OE will be offering 23 in-person brake school sessions across 11 states and two virtual classes aimed at fleet technicians, owner-operators and maintenance professionals.
Bendix said the multiday classes, scheduled from March through November, underscore the supplier’s long-standing focus on technical education as braking and advanced driver assistance systems grow more complex.
“Technical education is more important than ever. At Bendix, we hear this time and again in conversations with fleets across North America,” said Nicole Oreskovic, Bendix vice president of sales and marketing. “Technicians operate in a fast-changing commercial vehicle environment, where safety components advance rapidly. The pressure is intense for carriers to maintain overall safety, performance and uptime – while striving to lower their total cost of ownership.”
Bendix traces its training efforts back to the 1930s, when it used films, air boards and mobile training trucks to educate technicians. Today, the company continues that approach with a mix of classroom, hands-on and virtual instruction.
Air Brake Training Anchors Schedule
The 2026 calendar includes 16 sessions of Bendix’s three-day Air Brake Training class, which begins March 31-April 2 in Fresno, California.

Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems
The course covers component description, operation, troubleshooting and service for dual air brake systems.
Classroom topics include compressed air fundamentals, air system failure mode diagnosis and foundation brake components such as compressors, valves, drum brakes and air disc brakes. The program also introduces Bendix’s Global Scalable Brake Control electronic braking system and Global Scalable Air Treatment technologies.
Bendix recommends participants complete its online air brake training at brake-school.com before attending the in-person class.
Advanced Technology Course Expands
Responding to market demand, Bendix increased the availability of its two-day Advanced Technology Training program, scheduling seven sessions in 2026.
Three will be held at the company’s headquarters in Avon, Ohio. Two will be in Reno, Nevada. And two in Fairfield, Connecticut.
The first session is set for April 14-15 in Avon.
The advanced course builds on the air brake curriculum and focuses on operation and diagnostics for safety and driver assistance technologies. Topics include:
- Antilock braking systems
- Bendix ESP Electronic Stability Program
- Bendix Wingman Advanced collision mitigation
- Bendix Fusion driver assistance systems
- Lane departure warning systems
- Tire pressure monitoring systems
- Electronic braking and air treatment systems
The program also includes hands-on maintenance instruction for air disc brakes and electrical diagnostics.
“The increase in technological advances in braking and stability makes this training a must for the advanced technician,” said Brian Screeton, Bendix manager of technical training and service. “As safety advances continue, technicians are only going to see more of these systems and components.”
Screeton noted that a major North American OEM requires technicians pursuing master certification for its brake systems to complete Bendix’s two- and three-day programs as part of its curriculum.
Virtual Options and Testing
Bendix will offer two three-day virtual sessions in 2026, one scheduled in Eastern Time and the other in Mountain Time to accommodate attendees across North America.
All in-person classes incorporate hands-on instruction using Bendix air system boards, including a working Bendix Fusion system designed to provide a comprehensive overview of collision mitigation technology and overall air brake system operation.
Participants in both the Air Brake Training and Advanced Technology Training courses may take an optional written exam at the conclusion of class. Those who pass receive a Tested and Passed certificate; others receive a certificate of completion. Bendix training and testing are not affiliated with U.S. Department of Transportation certification requirements, and the company does not certify technicians for work on its systems.
Registration Details
Per-person enrollment is $525 for the three-day Air Brake Training course, $475 for the two-day Advanced Technology Training class and $425 for the virtual program. Class sizes are limited and filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
