Axonn LLC, the exclusive provider of asset monitoring hardware utilizing the Globalstar Simplex Data Network, has been awarded a patent number for its AXTracker line of products.
Axonn LLC, the exclusive provider of asset monitoring hardware utilizing the Globalstar Simplex Data Network, has been awarded a patent number for its AXTracker line of products.
AXTracker units are global one-way communication and asset monitoring devices that combine the Globalstar Simplex Data Service, GPS and RF technologies with innovative battery design to deliver a “place-and-play,” long service life solution for monitoring fixed and mobile assets.
According to patent documentation, “there is an unmet need for an asset tracking device that operates on an internal battery that provides years of wireless service, utilizes satellite communication, integrates Global Positioning Satellite service (GPS) and provides for external data such as alarms and raw user data to enable endpoint monitoring status beyond location”.
The patent was awarded to Axonn and will cover the tracking and local status of mobile assets using positioning information that utilizes a simplex transmitter to send the information over a low earth orbit satellite network.
Scott Quillin, a technical sales manager for Axonn and one of the patent inventors believes that, “this patent significantly increases our intellectual property position with low-cost wireless solutions that operate untethered with multiple year battery life. Our AXTracker products are now further protected under our patent portfolio and strengthen our position as being on the cutting edge of low cost communication methods.”
