Customers of Averitt Express, Cookeville, Tenn., can now access account-specific LTL rates at Averitt's web site, www.averittexpress.com.
With the new web service, shippers have real-time access to pricing details on individual LTL shipments customized to their specific account.
To access the customized rate quotes, shippers provide individual shipment details such as origin and destination zip codes, freight class and weight. Along with the rate quotes, Averitt provides customers with a wide range of pricing details including pricing tariffs, rate bases, and gross minimum information. Customers can also get up-to-date fuel surcharge percentages, as well as a variety of basic accessorial charges that may be applicable.
"This new service is in response to overwhelming customer demand," said Phil Pierce, Averitt's executive vice president of sales and marketing. "Our online rate quote section is the third most highly visited section of our web site, after our LTL shipment tracing and truckload shipment tracing."
Averitt had previously offered LTL rate quotes on its web site but did not provide them on a customized, account-specific basis.
