The American Trucking Associations will host its 2007 Management Conference and Exhibition (MC&E) in Orlando, Fla., Oct. 20-23.
Held at the Orlando World Center Marriott Resort,
the 2007 MC&E will feature more than 20 educational seminars, panel discussions and keynote speeches designed to keep top executives up to speed on key industry issues. Nearly 3,000 trucking executives and suppliers are expected to attend.
Several of this year's panels include:
• ATA President and CEO Bill Graves will highlight the many challenges facing the trucking industry during his State of the Industry address at MC&E's opening general session. Graves will discuss the industry's efforts on proposed solutions to highway congestion as well as issues related to hours of service, tolls, highway privatization and the environment.
• All Eyes on the Economy, an annual highlight of MC&E, will feature Stuart Varney, FOX News business correspondent, moderating National Association of Manufacturers' Chief Economist David Huether, ATA Chief Economist Bob Costello and other top economists as they dissect the economic outlook and discuss the prospects for interest rates, fuel prices and economic growth.
• An ATA delegation visited China in 2007 to assess new opportunities for the American trucking industry in this emerging global powerhouse. Trucking and Logistics in China will analyze the fundamental role of trucking to the evolution of a modern economic infrastructure in the world's fastest-growing economy.
• John Kasich, a former nine-term Republican Congressman from Ohio and host of FOX News' "Heartland" and Terry McAuliffe, a former chairman of the Democratic National Committee, will face off at the ATA Advocacy and Government Affairs Luncheon about the issues and candidates in the 2008 Presidential race.
• Industry experts also will cover key management topics including regulatory and legal issues, avoiding litigation hazards, technology and logistics trends, strategies for handling soaring health care and fuel costs, driver recruitment and much more.
Three things are at the heart of every MC&E: information, technology, and people. This year's grand-scale exhibition debuts the Orlando World Center Marriott's brand-new Cypress Ballroom - the largest pillar-free resort ballroom in the country - and will showcase everything from big rigs to software and business services.
MC&E is an unparalleled networking opportunity. Bringing together fleet owners, CEOs, top executives, and suppliers, MC&E is a once-a-year chance to build relationships. From receptions, dinners, and the Marriott Center's lush golf links, MC&E is packed with social events and networking opportunities.
